got the steering lock key made at my local locksmith. Also had the tank chemically cleaned. I am trying out a new sealer that the radiator shop has used for years. first primed the outside and will get a pint of paint to match the original color. Anyone know what this baby blue color is? it's a 62. I may just take the headset top in and get a match.

That's the same stuff Josh Snow and myself use. It's more commonly known as redkote but is the same as Northern minus the color. It's super easy to use and you'll get plenty of tanks coated with that one quart.
I avoid using tank sealers in general but when I do, that's the stuff I use. It was originally designed for the aircraft industry. I've personally witnessed it fill multiple 1/8" holes in a swiss cheesed enduro tank. _________________ www.piston-ported.com

Yep...that stuff is great. I've dome 3 tanks so far using just 1 can of the stuff.
Just don't let it drip on anything you or the wife like. Don't bother wearing latex gloves either.....this stuff eats anything! |

yup. thanks for the heads up on a decent product. The radiator shop is 3 blocks from my house andthey did a good job on the tank, since the gas was from 1977 probably. . It was cheaper than por 15. _________________ Built To Last

I am in awe of you guys who can knock out this kind of work over a few weeks/weekends. Takes me months and months. Nice work Mike, and I really appreciate you taking the time to document the work. _________________ Starr |
